Choosing The Right Potty Training Video

You want to avail yourself of every tool that can be helpful in your quest to potty train your son. There are some great potty training DVDs available for both parents and kids. You will be met with a ton of choices when shopping for a potty training video or DVD. Take some time to read the reviews at sites like Amazon to determine what will likely work best for your son. There have undoubtedly been many parents in the past who have faced the same challenges that you are facing, so why not glean some wisdom from their reviews. Another very popular potty training DVD is Sesame Street - Elmo's Potty Time. While this video is quite informative, its big draw is that it features Elmo, who most kids are familiar with. This can help your son feel comfortable about the subject.

Another great video is Potty Power for Boys and Girls, which is a great alternative for those kids not excited about Elmo. The cool thing about this video is there are songs performed and information demonstrated 3-year olds. This is a very relate-able video for most potty training-aged kids.

Just be careful not to fall for the 'magic pill' potty training dvds. These are the ones that promise potty training a single day. It sounds great, but is totally unrealistic. Most pediatricians will be quick to inform you that potty training is a process that takes time. While there are kids who potty train rather quickly (usually girls), this is most likely because the timing for the child was perfect for potty training.

There are of course many other great videos beyond what we have mentioned. Have fun with it. Make sure to reading the user reviews, and find a good fit with you and your child. Not every child will benefit from an instructional video, but for a lot of kids they really can be quite helpful. Don't underestimate the power of your son watching one of their favorite characters speak positively about potty training, or of having a child about their age doing the same.
